Name: Donna Pope MHE
Position: Executive Director
It is a joy to work in this field, to watch adoptive families and birth parents work through the challenges they face during this time. As the mother of three adopted boys I have great love and appreciation for those women who place their children for adoption. I started this agency in 1998 with the hopes that we could make a positive difference in the lives of these courageous people. We have a great team that works hard to do that and who love the people they serve. |

Name: Debi Johnson
Position: Birthmother Coordinator
I have been with Heart to Heart for almost 5 years. I am very passionate about my birthmoms and making sure the adoption process goes as smoothly as possible for them. Each situation has challenges and is unique, but I tell my girls I want them to be treated the way I would want myself or my daughters treated and I strive daily to do that. The emotional part is very important in my opinion and I let them know I’m there for them and will always follow through with what I say. I have also worked with our local police department with their victim advocate and teen dating violence programs, another passion of mine. In addition to my work I love to bake, the holidays and spending time with my family.

Name: Rebecca Turkanis LCSW
Position: Adoption Counselor
Hello! My name is Rebecca and I work as an adoption counselor at Heart to Heart Adoptions. I am a licensed social worker and received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2008. My main role is supporting birth mothers through the process of placing their babies for adoption. The adoption process is complex and can bring up a multitude of emotions. I assist birth mothers in working through these feelings while preparing for the placement. I truly enjoy getting to know these amazing women and helping them through this complex process. The relationships we build do not end with placement but continue on as women return home. I consider it a privilege to be a part of such an important and life changing process.
