- Closed - once legal, no further information is shared between the birth parents and the families who adopt the baby.
- Open – when you adopt a baby you meet the birth parents prior to placement and may continue to develop a relationship after the child is born.
- Semi-open - birth parents meet the family adopting their baby prior birth. There is no further physical contact, though the families may stay in touch through pictures and letters.

For adopting parents, the decision to adopt a baby is an extremely important life decision. Heart to Heart is here to help the domestic adoption process. Once the application is received, the approval process usually takes 2-3 weeks. When you receive your approval letter your profile is added to our list of adoptive parents while you sit back and wait to receive the phone call that will change your life forever.
