We are witnesses to Elder Neil L. Andersen’s statement that “the bearing of children can … be a heartbreaking subject for righteous couples who marry and find that they are unable to have children . . .”

When bearing children naturally is not possible for prepared and capable couples, adoption is one way to build an eternal family. The decision to adopt is not an easy one. Next to deciding whom to marry, bringing a new child in your life may be the next, most important decision you will make. Because the adoption process can be long and faith-searching choosing to adopt requires fervent prayer, commitment, education, and a confirmation from the Spirit.

It is important that you work with adoption professionals who understand this sacred, spiritual process so adoptive families are able to make informed and loving decisions based on their circumstances and their righteous desires.
