Heidi & Family – Adopted in 2011

We had been on waiting lists with other agencies for over 5 years and never even got a call. We heard about Heart to Heart and decided to contact them. Everyone was so friendly and the application was free so we decided to fill it out and send them our homestudy. I liked the policy that we could get our money back if the birthmom changed her mind. That relieved much of the financial stress that comes with an expensive private adoption. It took about a month to get approved. During that time I went baby crazy. I got clothes and “baby stuff,” packed a diaper bag and organized it and REORGANIZED it. We had been keeping up with the “available situations” online and dreaming of a baby.

Just over a week after we were approved at 5:21 p.m. we got our CALL!!! A birthmom few in to Utah that day, she would deliver her baby boy the next day and the agency wanted to know if we were available to receive him. We started jumping around and screaming, then crying. We said YES!

It was so good that we prepared early. We packed our bags, threw them in the car, slept for about 4 hours, then set off on our trip to Utah. Kim was waiting at the hospital for us. She was so helpful! Michelle was great! She took care of all of our paperwork. I was able to be in the room when our baby was born. The hospital staff was wonderful! I get the chills looking back at how everything worked out so well. We love our baby! We are so thankful for him and for Heart to Heart for uniting us. We hope to use them again.
